A Clean Grab

About this book

Seventeen-year-old Josie Kurtti is the best spotter in Minnesota's Iron Range repossession trade. She rides the night shift in her father's battered tow truck, reads license plates in dark driveways and keeps a private ledger of who owes her what. When a lender's order for an unpaid pickup belonging to the Maki family lands on the kitchen table, Josie has nine days to take it clean. The Makis are the family of her old best friend. If she succeeds, her father keeps the contract that pays for their house. If she fails, someone else will do it. In a town of nine thousand, everyone knows whose truck is idling at the curb, and Josie knows exactly what she owes.
