Pearls of the Wind-Whale

About this book

In the floating archipelago of Aeloria, where islands drift on the backs of colossal wind-whales, emotions physically manifest as luminous heartpearls. Years ago, Vartan and Nairi, two lovers destined to anchor the central isle of Eldris with their rare crimson pearl of commitment, were torn apart by Vespera, a jealous wind-whale matriarch. The shattering of their bond unleashed dissonance, cracking the world and cursing them with fragmented memories. Now, Nairi rules the misty Whisper Isle as a guarded weaver of pearl-sails, while Vartan wanders the skies as a scarred diver, his skin etched with shifting maps of whale song. When the dying song of a whale crashes Vartan back into Nairi's life, they discover Vespera's storms are threatening to send all of Aeloria plummeting into the abyss. Forced to reunite, they embark on a perilous quest to harvest three legendary essences—Renewal, Lust, and Forever—to reforge their shattered pearl. Battling through the Echo Serpents' labyrinth, the desire-vines of the Inferno Bloom groves, and the memory-phantoms of the Timeless Spire, they must confront their past betrayals and reignite a passion powerful enough to save their world from falling forever.
