The Perihelion Oath

About this book

On Hearthcomet, a drifting city built within a hollowed-out comet, survival depends on the twelve-year orbital cycle. When the comet swings close to the inner system, the residents trade for vital supplies and participate in the Perihelion Oath, a ceremony where couples renew their vows of loyalty and service to guide the city through the long, dark journey ahead. Celeste, a young astrogator preparing for her first Oath, finds her heart torn between the duty she owes her family and an unexpected connection with a newcomer from the inner system. As Hearthcomet approaches its crucial trade window, Celeste must navigate her growing feelings, the strict traditions of her home, and the looming responsibility of steering her people into the cold unknown.
