Dust and Deliverance

About this book

In the Parched States of America, where rain is a fifty-year-old myth and the Mississippi is a dusty scar in the earth, Elias, an aging Rain-Caller, holds the world's last hope: a Storm Tree seed. Hunted by Governor Sterling, the tyrant of the New York Aquifer who maintains power through water scarcity, Elias forms an unlikely alliance with Ruby, a brilliant mechanic with an armored steam-truck. Together, they embark on a perilous odyssey across the dried seabed of the Great Scar, traveling from the ruins of New Orleans toward the legendary Source Well in the Great Lakes. Pursued by Sterling's relentless sand-crawler fleet and battling the supernatural elements of a thirsty world, they must plant the seed to break the drought. It is a journey of grit, engine grease, and ancient magic, where the ghosts of the past are as dangerous as the scorching sun.
