The Tinderbox City

About this book

In an alternative 1815 London where the Great Fire never occurred, sixteen-year-old Mara Sunder navigates a dangerous, timber-built metropolis as a rooftop runner. When a suspicious blaze claims the life of a close neighbor, Mara uncovers a deadly political conspiracy orchestrated by the city's stone-dwelling elite to burn away the slums. Armed with her unparalleled knowledge of the city's hidden paths and clues connected to her missing father, she must unite a fractured community to stop the powerful forces threatening to reduce their wooden world to ash.
